The human reproduction cycle

The continued survival of each species is a priority of utmost importance. Because of this, life's reproduction cycles are aligned with seasons where conditions are more favorable for the subsistence of new life. Such timing is the result of millions of years of evolution.

But, what about mankind?

Our reproduction cycle does not revolve around seasons like other life, but instead repeats every 28 days and continues throughout the whole year. Rather than seasons, our cycle is in rhythm with the 28 day cycle of the Moon. What is the reason for this? If we evolved in the same environment as other life has, why is our cycle different? What role has the Moon played in the evolution of humanity?

The importance of our cycle has never been fully understood. Yet, it provides a clue as to the natural origins of mankind.
